Award Winning Television, Stage, and Film Actress

Emily Kuroda completed seven years as Mrs. Kim in Warner Brothers’ GILMORE GIRLS. She was also a series regular on UNDER ONE ROOF with Flavor Flav. Other television credits include GREY’S ANATOMY, SIX FEET UNDER, KING OF QUEENS, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, THE PRACTICE, GENERAL HOSPITAL, PORT CHARLES, ER, THE DIVISION, THE AGENCY, PRESIDIO MED and ARLISS. Feature films include HOTEL FOR DOGS, THE SENSI, SHOP GIRL, MINORITY REPORT, STRANGER INSIDE, TWO DAYS IN THE VALLEY, DAD, BROKEN WORDS, ABOUT LOVE (Emmy nominated), WORTH WINNING and the soon to be released PEEP WORLD and AUSSIE AND TED with Dean Caine.

Emily has performed in numerous plays including Luis Alfaro’s STRAIGHT AS A LINE at Playwrights Arena, directed by Jon Rivera, Chay Yew's RED at East West Players and WINTER PEOPLE at the Boston Court. Other theatres include Kirk Douglas Theatre, South Coast Rep, New York’s Public Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, Seattle Rep, Singapore Repertory Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theater, Doolittle Theater, Huntington Theater (Boston), Los Angeles Theater Center, Zephyr Theater, LA Women’s Shakespeare Company, and the Los Angeles Shakespeare Festival.

She is the recipient of five Dramalogue Awards, a Garland Award for outstanding performance, an L.A. Ovation award nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Play, Playwrights Arena Award and the EWP Award for Outstanding Contribution to LA Theater.

Anjar: Flowers, Goats and Heroes (2008) (Canada)
Director: Noura Kevorkian-Running Time: 87 minutes

Synopsis: In 1979, at the peak of the Lebanese Civil War, a young Armenian girl’s life in a small village becomes forever linked to a group of heroes, the survivors of the 20th century’s first genocide.

Talking Pictures (2009) (Istanbul, Turkey)
Director: Mehmet Binay-Running Time: 14 minutes

Synopsis: Talking pictures is the photographic journey of Ghazaros Kerjilian as he returns to his ancestral hometown of Geben in search of his great uncle, who went missing in 1915. Secret links are about to be unearthed.

Hove (The Wind) (2009) (Colorado)
Written and Directed by: Alex Webb-Running Time: 9 minutes
Synopsis: Two Armenian women’s friendship is deeply affected by a chance encounter with the past and powerful, unresolved legacy of the Armenian Genocide. Zara (played by Olimpia Dukakis) is visited by her friend Nina (played by Shirleyann Kaladjian) at the Armenian cultural bookstore. Zara is reading a mysterious book that has deeply disturbed her.

Komitas Hayrig (2009) (Florida)
Director: Bared Maronian-Running Time: 18 minutes
Synopsis: The life of Komitas Vardapet – composer, ethnomusicologist, priest and father of modern Armenian classic music – is told through interviews with Armenian clergy, still photographs and the beautiful folk songs he worked so hard to preserve. The film also charts the catastrophic impact of the Armenian Genocide of Armenian Clergy.
