Communicating Critical Ideas: Finding Our Voices in Media and in Public a workshop with University of Texas Journalism Professor Robert Jensen. Effective communication is crucial for political activists, whether the channel for the message is a television news show, the op/ed page of a newspaper, a speech at a rally, or a one-on-one conversation. In this workshop, Jensen will reflect on the elements of effective communication common to all those settings and then move on to offer reflections on public speaking, tips for working with the mainstream media, and thoughts on the opportunities of independent media.

Discussant: Dr. Robert Jensen is a journalism professor at the University of Texas at Austin and board member of the Third coast Activist Resource Center.
