CSU Summer Arts Needs Horns!

The CSU Summer Arts program is soliciting for any horn instruments to be used to build a sound sculpture this summer. Horns can be "junk" instruments, unsalvagable, or in working condition.

Summer Arts will again be hosted by the Fresno State campus June 27 through July 24. Fifteen courses are being offered and one art course titled Building Reactive Sculpture: Spaces & Objects, Sound & Movement requires horn instruments for the construction of this sculpture.

The guest artist requesting these instruments is Seattle based, Trimpin. Trimpin is an internationally exhibiting artist/composer/inventor/engineer and is featured in the documentary film, TRIMPIN: the sound of invention, (www.trimpinmovie.com) currently traveling the Film Festival circuit. Seattle's Music Experience Project features Trimpin's sound sculpture, if vi was ix, constructed of 700 acoustic and electric guitars, towering 50', playing via computer a collection of musical genres and, via computer, self-tuning!

Trimpin will be featured in a public event/performance scheduled for Sunday, July 18th from 12 to 4 p.m. on the Fresno State campus.
