In this session of the Deans' Series, join "Jim Learner" (aka Dean McDonald) as he skillfully interviews and delves into the secrets, confessions, and insights of five panelists regarding their leadership techniques and professional development.

Come join us for this lively, fun and engaging exchange! Audience participation is welcomed.

Karen Carey
Karen Carey has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from San Diego State, a master’s degree in school psychology from UNLV and a Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. She currently serves as Dean of the Division of Graduate Studies.

Berta Gonzalez
For over 30 years, Dr. González taught in elementary and secondary grades, university level students, professionals and administrators in the United States and in numerous countries abroad. Her current position is Associate Vice President for the Division of Continuing and Global Education.

Ellen Junn
Ellen Junn earned her B.S. from the University of Michigan and Ph.D. from Princeton University in cognitive and developmental psychology and comes to Fresno after teaching at Indiana University, CSU San Bernardino and CSU Fullerton over the past 24 years. She currently serves as Associate Provost.

Peter McDonald
Peter McDonald, Dean of Library Services at Fresno State, began his library career at the New York Public Library in 1987. Since then he has worked at Cornell University, and more recently at Syracuse University. He arrived in Fresno to take up his current position on February 1, 2007.

Dennis Nef

Dr. Nef is an agricultural economist with an interest in food, agriculture, and resource policy and the use of technology in education and project based learning. He currently serves as Associate Vice President and Dean of Undergraduate Studies.

Dave Tyckoson
Dave is the Associate Dean of the Henry Madden Library, California State University - Fresno. Prior to moving to California, he held positions at SUNY-Albany, Iowa State University, and Miami (Ohio) University. He has an undergraduate degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Library Science, both from the University of Illinois.
